Restoration CARE -RC Group (May 8-June 12th )
May 8th - June 12th, 2018
Restoration CARE Group (May 2018 session) *ANOTHER SESSION WILL BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER)
You can begin your Restoration CARE journey with participation in the "Restoration CARE Group," or "RC Group."
The goal of the RC Group is to introduce you to the biblical foundations and principles of Restoration CARE, and help you begin to "connect the dots" in areas that need healing and restoration. This group is much like a class in that there will be some sharing but it is not designed to completely process the issues that have led you to seek Restoration CARE. These will become areas you will focus on and further process during your individual sessions if you choose to move forward.
RC group meets on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm., in room 111, at Discovery Central campus (4400 S. Orange Ave.) This is 6 week long session.
There is NO COST to participate. Space is limited so register ASAP.
Please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Foster Care/Safe Families Q & A (hosted by DC Missions)
May 10th, 2018
In honor of National Foster Care Month, DC Missions is hosting a Foster Care and Safe Families Q & A on Thursday, May 10th from 6:30 - 8:30pm in the Student Center at our Central campus. KidCare will be provided with registration.
This Q & A will include a panel made up of a foster parent, a former foster youth and someone from licensing. We will address questions regarding how to become a foster parent, how to support the local foster community, and how to adopt from foster care as well as how to become a safe family and how to come alongside those that are currently serving as safe families.
Currently, it's estimated that over 408,000 children are in foster care. Every year, over 30,000 children age out of the foster system without a chance at permanence, which means the foster children are reaching the age of eighteen, no longer wards of the state, and out on their own. This means that the youth over the age of eighteen have no familial support, resources, or even job or life skills. These facts have fueled the motivation behind National Foster Care Month.

DC Kids | ParentChild Dedication
May 19th - May 20th, 2018
ParentChild Dedication is the parental recognition of the solemn responsibility to raise your child being nurtured by and under the instruction of the Lord.
Children are a precious gift from God, and at Discovery we believe that we should follow the example set in the Bible to 'dedicate' our lives to raise our children according to His Word. The Dedication service provides parents the opportunity to make this commitment public before God, their friends & family, and our extended church family.
The next ParentChild Dedication will be at the Central and East Campuses in May.
